Its already 1 week after Magic The Gathering’s Streets of New Capenna release. The inflow of cards from prerelease and more specifically, release weekend is settling down. Most often, this is the moment were cards that see play can still be picked up relatively cheap. This article will show you some historical data for the price trend and supply from Cardmarket for the regular non-foil art cards.
Broad picture
The following figures give you an overall impression of the prices and available items for the mythics, rares, uncommons and commons in the set. When cross-referencing these images with the state we had 1 week after NEO‘s release, we can conclude that the supply is more or less the same. For your information, the vertical dashed black lines on the graphs represent the prerelease and release date of SNC.
Nothing much more to learn from these I guess… There are no outliers for the commons and uncommons in contrast to NEO, where we had Secluded Courtyard and the nice lands. If you could really call them outliers… Let’s have a more detailed look at the standouts from the mythic and rares…
Mythics
We get Ob Nixilis, the Adversary as the most valued card from this set. Given it’s early success in standard on Arena, people have already been calling out for it’s ban. We’ll just have to wait how the meta settles from here on.
Noteworthy is Raffine, Scheming Seer which already has seen a huge drop in supply well below 1000 available items, which might signify a rise in price trend in the near future. It’s 1-day average price has already been slightly rising the last couple of days.
Rares
Triome lands
Well, these are not actual Triome lands, but they are usually referred to them as they complete the original Triome lands that we’ve gotten in Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths.
And for your reference, hereafter we have some charts for the old Ikoria Triome land valuation and available items. Lets not forget that the available items might have been on the lower side due to the pandemic that was in full force at the moment of Ikoria’s release, so the amount of SNC lands might turn out to be a bit higher. Nevertheless, the price trend of the Ikoria Triomes should still provide an excellent baseline as to where these SNC Triomes might settle. And, on a sidenote, Savai Triome seems to be trending upwards…
Some other rares
In the winning camp, we see Professional Face-Breaker and Ledger Shredder. For the latter, the price trend has clearly not been following the from-price as these sell for 5 euro and upwards today. Nevertheless, we see the supply has been increasing a lot again, so we are not that sure whether the rising price is sustainable…
In the losing camp, we have Giada, Font of Hope, which started at a price of around 4 euro. We see it steadily becoming cheaper again and this with a rising supply as well.
